So I've been pretty symptom free up until the past day or 2 (5w1d-ish) but this morning the smell of my deodorant made me gag every time I moved my arms after putting it on.

What weird and wonderful things have brought on your nausea or sickness?

I was the same with deodorant.

Cheerios made me vomit every time. Still struggle with the smell 3 years later.

Going from the cool to a warm home.

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 18/02/2020 21:28

The smell of any tinned fish.
Sickly sweet smells - vanilla and the bakery dept of the supermarket.
Coffee.
Mints.

Peeling a banana

My ex bought a soprano saxophone when I was newly pregnant and just the sound of it made me queasy and for several years after.

PixieN · 18/02/2020 21:37

Trying to brush my teeth made me gag 🤢

sel2223 · 18/02/2020 21:38

Brushing my teeth

And strong food smells

Beau2020 · 18/02/2020 21:40

Bad breath

Navy123 · 18/02/2020 21:40

My husband

For about 2 weeks his actual scent made me gag every time. He had to sleep in the spare room and generally not come near me. Then it disappeared again overnight and was fine!

Starburst12 · 18/02/2020 21:42

The smell of cooking, i can’t stand it!! But the only thing to stop the nausea is eating... catch 22

AudacityOfHope · 18/02/2020 21:44

Opening the fridge door.
Looking into plug holes.
Being a passenger in the car - I used to hang my head out of the window like a dog, retching Envy

I'm 17 weeks and so many things made me feel sick. Brushing teeth was the worst, followed by sipping water.
My own breath made me gag, I had a weird horrible taste in my mouth for weeks.
The smell of my dogs food made me heave.

The thought of certain foods made me ill but then a week later I could crave said foods.
Pregnancy is SO weird!!

LittleBoyJuly2020 · 18/02/2020 21:52

Oh god yes, being a passenger in the car. Awful Sad

BeHappyAndSmile · 18/02/2020 21:52

Some of these are amazing! I thought the deodorant was strange but I think the plug holes and saxophone top it haha.

I saw an advertisement for a king prawn ring...IN A MAGAZINE. An actual picture made me throw up.

Maz91 · 18/02/2020 22:09

Seeing mayonnaise, pepperoni, sausages, and grilled chicken. Brushing my back teeth also sets me off D: it seems everyday I'm discovering more and more aversions and finding something bearable to eat is getting harder. I'm seeing visible weight loss as a result. Hoping it passes after the 12 week mark.

SospanFrangipan · 18/02/2020 22:14

When the dog would come in from outside. Just the smell of outside, it was awful. Hubby couldn't smell it then, and I haven't smelt it since LO was born!

MotherofPearl · 18/02/2020 22:34

Oh dear, this brings back bad memories. I had dreadful HG twice. Some things I remember really triggering nausea and in some cases vomiting were:

My DP's deodorant
Smell of fresh basil
Washing powder
I once threw up violently in the kitchen sink when I caught sight of a bottle of olive oil Confused

Also teeth cleaning as others have said. It's hideous to admit this now but for a couple of months the sickness was so bad that I just couldn't clean them at all. All I could bear was a quick rinse with Listerine Cool Citrus mouthwash. No other flavours were tolerable. I then got obsessed with the smell of mouthwash and used to keep bottles of it all around the house to sniff when a wave of nausea came on.

Just bizarre.

DH sprayed febreeze downstairs, I slept in the spare room with two windows wide open and tried to find a local Airbnb. Walking round the supermarket and doing an Ocado shop makes me feel sick. 12+1 and sickness still raging.

Kitten22 · 19/02/2020 00:32

Tap water.
Boxed food.
Hot drinks.
Smell of sandwhich shops in the early hours. (The worst)
Perfume.

MotherofPearl · 19/02/2020 06:05

Ah yes, tap water.

CouscousEvaporator · 19/02/2020 06:09

The smell of sweet corn and the thought of any hot drink.

The saxophone is brilliant 😆

glasha87 · 19/02/2020 08:59

Supermarkets
Opening the fridge - big one Sad
The toilet in work
Deodorant
When faced with food that suddenly on the food aversion list - can come as surprise!

11 weeks Envy

DaffyTaffy24 · 19/02/2020 09:03
