12 week scan and thin fluid on the baby's neck

Just that really. The scan showed the baby had only a thin amount of fluid at the back of the baby's neck. I know thick fluid can mean Down syndrome but no idea what thin could mean. Anyone had this?

Well, Google seems to indicate that thinner is better. Anything under 5mm is normal.

Mine all had really small nuchal fold measurements. No one ever seemed concerned and all 3 are perfectly healthy.
What was the measurement?

Thank you. That's reassuring! Having blood tests for Down syndrome but I know that's thick neck fluid. Tests back in a week 🤞

Did they say it was a concern at the scan?

I was curious why the fluid thickness is a marker and it turns out that it's an indication of how often the fetus moves around. Fetuses with genetic problems tend to be inactive so fluid pools near the neck area, hence the thicker the measurement the more alarming it is. Having a thin measurement probably means you have a very active baby :)

I had my scan today, I'm 12+5 and I also had I thin one at the back of the neck but she said everything was perfect. I also heard her saying something like 1.5 to the other midwife in the room at the time so I didnt think it was anything to worry about. I then got sent for my blood test but she sounded positive.
