Wetness in early pregnancy

Hi all. I'm after a little advice if anyone is able to help?
Im 11 weeks pregnant and experiencing a lot of fluid in my underwear. It's just a clear liquid and seems to be trickling every now and again. Some midwives said it could be urine but it doesn't seem to smell like it.
I'm terrified my losing amniotic fluid and it's putting my baby at risk. This is my third pregnancy following an ectopic and still birth and pretty anxious about everything but certainly don't remember being this uncomfortable previously at this stage . Any help would be so appreciated

I am also 11 weeks and have a lot of liquid...I am a little worried for the same reason. I cant offer much help as this is my first pregnancy but wanted to know youre not alone. My scan is Friday so fingers crossed I'll know what's happening then xx

Amniotic fluid tends to smell sweet so look out for that. Keep raising it with the MW and at the scan just in case.

An insane amount of vaginal secretions would be normal at this stage. Might it be that?

Also could be incontinence. Are you doing your kegels? If not, get on it!

I had a scan on Friday and they took some swabs. They said they would only be looking for an infection but as far as they can see, the scan and examination seemed normal.

They will call me with the results of the swab tomorrow but they still won't tell me if it's amniotic fluid. I also get it after emptying my bladder so I'm not sure it's that?

@Sk191 good luck, I'm sure everything will be fine

My wetness stopped before the stage you're at, but in the first few weeks after learning I'm pregnant (roughly from week 4 to 7), I was so wet it felt like a constant period. Then it disappeared, but at the moment it feels like it returned in week 13! Sometimes I almost feel like I've peed myself. I had two scans last week because of bleeding and everything was OK. It kinda feels like I got increasingly wet after that bleeding! Makes me a bit anxious because when I feel that discharge gushing, I start fearing it's blood.

Watery discharge is very common, but it's good you're being checked for infections. Try not to worry unless you are told there is a reason xx

Hi could it be just discharge? I had this alot during pregnancy i got told it was just my body changing. i now have a healthy 15wk old.
I would say phone midwife/triage if your ever worried. I did and got seen everytime.

MFF1 · 27/02/2020 12:03

@Sk191 did you scan go okay? X

Hello @MFF1 scan went brilliantly...little bean was well behaved for measurements then turned into an acrobat when it came photo time! I'm now 12+4 and the wetness has decreased so no idea what was going on. How were you results? X

MFF1 · 27/02/2020 18:10

@Sk191 ah brilliant congrats! My swabs came back clear and the fluid has reduced a lot so they're not worried. My 12 week scan is in the morning so fingers crossed all goes well!

Vaginal discharge typically increases a lot in pregnancy, it sounds like that’s the most likely explanation.

Sk191 · 27/02/2020 18:16

@MFF1 fingers crossed for your scan! I was so nervous for mine but let me know how it goes! How far along are you now? X

I had to wear pant liners almost the whole pregnancy and change 4-5 times a day at some points - I always mentioned it to the midwife but apparently discharge and wetness is pretty common. Another of those lovely glamorous sides of pregnancy that no one mentions!
