I'm 33+3 weeks and have thrush... I'm going to the pharmacy tomorrow but will they serve me without a prescription with me being pregnancy? Or will I need to see GP first? 😫

Might be better buying off the shelf in a supermarket

You shouldn't have problem in getting some as you can find them on the shelves of the pharmacy too. But also supermarkets have them( for sure Sainsbury's have them).

You could ring your GP too if you want a prescription so you don't pay for them as you're pregnant.

Speak to the pharmacist as they will be able to advise you what you can have. When pregnant you cant have the oral tablets but you can use the cream and the pessary (without using the applicator). I would speak to pharmacist than working it out yourself.

I was told by the pharmacist it had to be on prescription when pregnant. Phone consultation with GP sorted it.

My local pharmacy wouldn’t sell me the pessary just the cream. To be honest I had it so badly throughout my pregnancy I ended up going to my GP as it was costing me a fortune and also they can prescribe a stronger pessary. Hope you get it sorted!

Pharmacist may not sell it to you without a prescription which is why you may want to buy it off the shelf instead

I was told you had to have to go gp by pharmacy. I was told cause pregnant you need a different pessary which isn't as strong.
I had to get a 7 day course of pessaries in a lower strength rather than the usual one I've had previously. Dunno if this is the norm though!
