Hi all
Been in hospital recently for a month regarding bowel problems. Whilst in hospital from 17 weeks I felt ‘ flutters’ and some ‘ popping’ mainly at night. Was feeling this until a few days ago, now I haven’t felt any movement for 3 days?

I’m wondering if I imagined it before or if it was my bowel movements I was feeling? Should I be concerned? I have my 20 week scan on Friday. Should I wait or contact midwife tomorrow?

In the early days between 18-21 weeks I remember the butterfly flutters and sometimes noticed them more than others and had very quiet 'worry' days in between then all of a sudden more flutters etc a few days later. Baby is still only small so try not to worry. Have you tried drinking cold water? However there's no harm reassuring yourself and contacting the midwife. Even when bigger movements kicked in baby had quieter and very busy days too!

They say not to worry until 24 weeks. Plus if it might be the case that you have an anterior placenta, it could take a tiny bit longer to feel proper movements.

With my fourth( now) felt some flutters from about 17 weeks but I had a period of almost nothing until about 21 weeks when I started noticing movements regularly.

You can always ask your midwife but I guess that's what you will be told.

@R2D2abc
Thank you! Maybe I’ll leave asking the midwife as I have a scan on Friday anyway x
