Hi all. 7 weeksnow - I've been having this discharge for over a week now and there is no sign for it to stop. (Picture attached)
Had a scan a week ago and all is well and baby had a heart beat. I am a bit worried about this discharge. Has anyone else ever had this lightly coloured discharge and all was well? Other symptoms I have are: tender breasts, nausea, constipation. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

@DJBebe I don't have an answer but I'm experiencing similar. A couple of times in last 3 weeks I've had red spotting but it's mostly been pink/peach or brown and there have been days between with nothing. So confused!! Have scan on Tuesday at EPU but am worried it won't be good news (had a miscarriage in november but it was entirely different, more bleeding than spotting and didn't stop, only got worse) I am 8 weeks on Tuesday x

DJBebe · 16/02/2020 20:03

How are are you @newmum2020 ?
Hope all goes well on Tue. EPU advised that any sign of spotting and pelvic cramps means that i am at risk but they thought it was unlikely to MC and that some spotting is ok as long as it's not heavy bleeding and strong cramps but I'm still scared. x

TMI - This is the most abundant spotting i had so far.

This looks about the same extent of mine over last couple of days @DJBebe but about 3 times over the last 3 weeks I've had red spotting. It's so hard not to worry. I go through mixed emotions of giving up completely to thinking it might be ok. I just need to get through today and then have the scan tomorrow. I'm so nervous and dreading it but also just want to know either way. Prepared for the worst and hoping for the best right now. Hope you're ok today? It's always comforting to chat to others on here x

DJBebe · 17/02/2020 08:58

I'll keep my fingers crossed for us both. 🤞🤞 Hope it goes well on Tue. Please let me know how it went or if they reccomended anything. My Dr couldn't recommend anything and said that in case of MC i wouldn't be able to do anything to stop it 😔. x

That's what I keep telling myself, there's nothing I can do to control it so I just need to be patient and trust that things happen for a reason. I'll let you know how I get on x

Saoirse22 · 17/02/2020 12:12

Hi @DJBebe, since you're so early I take it you don't have a midwife yet? If so, call your GP for some reassurance, it will make you feel better.

I'm not a medical professional so I can only speak from my own experience with bleeding, and mine was heavy, fresh red blood followed by lighter and then brown discharge. I had emergency scans at 12 weeks and the baby was absolutely unconcerned with the bleeding from my placenta!

This look like normal, common discharge and I personally wouldn't worry. I hate how we're not really told how common a bit of light or brown discharge is in pregnancy before it happens. Barely any friend or relative I know had pregnancy without some spotting or discharge. My own mother had brown discharge for 3 weeks, and another friend had pinkish spotting for almost a month! It happens, your body is working hard and your uterus is currently stretching and growing a lot. I know not worrying is easier said than done, I freaked out when I was bleeding, but do try to be positive. I'd definitely recommend speaking to a GP or midwife, it will give you some peace of mind.

DJBebe · 22/02/2020 08:46

@Saoirse22 - thank you so much for your advice, reading it made me feel so much better.
@newmum2020 how are you getting on? Hope all is well.
My spotting/discharge went away for the last 4 days only to return this morning and make my anxiety levels go up instantly.
Why on earth has the spotting returned? 😥

Hey DjBebe

I've literally had the exact same discharge as you the past couple of of days. I'm currently 5+3 pregnant. I also had some full aches in my lower abdomen and weirdly my boobs stopped being sore and tender overnight! This automatically has put me into panic mode as I know sudden loss of symptoms can imply miscarriage

I called my midwife yesterday and she said she didn't seem worried and with me being that early on in pregnancy, cramping and spotting is still normal. In regards to the symptoms disappearing she also said that this can happen with some women where symptoms disappear but can reappear days after (or not). Totally panicking at the moment but it's too early for me to get an early scan either so I have no choice but to wait and see what happens

It not a great feeling! X

SassyPants87 · 22/02/2020 08:55

*dull ache

DJBebe · 22/02/2020 09:45

@SassyPants87 Hope all goes well for you.
I also had frequent dull tummy aches between weeks 4-6 but now they eased and haven't had any for a few days. My tender breasts also eased for 2-3 days last week but then the symptoms returned but the nausea us always present. This discharge (pic attached) is worrying me now so may book a private scan next week for the peace of my mind.
I know its eassier said than done but please stay positive. x

@DJBebe

Thanks for the supportive words. I have everything crossed for you that all will be well when you go for your scan

Keep me updated x

GreenPillow · 22/02/2020 15:25

I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and been having exactly the same for the past four days. The widwife I was saw was unconcerned... Not that it has eased my anxiety. Hope it stops soon.

cloclo92 · 22/02/2020 15:32

I had exactly this at 7 weeks. But it did only last a couple of days. I'm now 17 weeks. Your EPU should offer a scan to put your mind at rest.
Fingers crossed for you x

SassyPants87 · 26/02/2020 11:51

Hi @DJBebe

How are you getting on? Did you manage to book a scan in? X

DJBebe · 26/02/2020 13:11

Hiya. My midwife advised me to inform the GP. I then called the GP but he was NOT concerned at all due to lack of "fresh blood". The light brown spotting and the light peachy discharge has more or less stopped now and there is barely anything during the day which made me calm down a bit and decided not to book the private scan for now.
How are you getting on @SassyPants87? X

SassyPants87 · 26/02/2020 19:23

Hey @DJBebe that's really reassuring news! I hope it all stays well (fingers crossed). I actually haven't spotted since last week it's just my fluctuating symptoms that keep bothering me. I've booked for an early scan for next weekend when I'll be 7+4 weeks so I can hopefully be reassured that everything is okay. I was always going to get an early scan but unfortunately it just so happens that I've had these symptoms and now I feel like I really need the scan to put my mind at ease x

DJBebe · 26/02/2020 19:49

@SassyPants87 that is actually good news. It might have been late implantation bleeding. My symptoms fluctuate as well, sometimes they are worse in the morning, evening and night and fade completely during the day. Hopefully the scan will put your mind at ease and you can enjoy the pregnancy. I can't wait to go past 1st trimester and have my 12 weeks scan.
Hope all goes well for you. Keep me posted and stay positive. X

Hey @DJBebe how are you now?

My I started bleeding again today it was only light brown blood. But now it's bright red when I wipe :( so worried now

DJBebe · 04/03/2020 21:36

My dr said that even bleeding is fine as long as it's not heavy and alongside sharp strong cramps.
You need to call you midwife or GP to refer you to EPU. If the bleeding gets heavy tonight you could even go to A&E. Surely they can do a scan.
Stay positive @SassyPants87, it will be ok. Sending you a big hug.
Let me lnow how you get on. x

@DJBebe so after crying all morning I got a private scan today. Everything with baby is fine!! THANK GOD!!!!! They found some small bleeding lower down away from the baby's sac that they think may be a burst/irritated blood vessel and just to take it easy. I can't tell you the relief I'm feeling right

DJBebe · 06/03/2020 07:50

This ia such a great news @SassyPants87. 🙂 I am very happy for you. Hope the bleeding stops soon but at least you know the baby is in no danger. How are your other symptoms? Have you booked your midwife app?

OP posts:
SassyPants87 · 07/03/2020 09:56

@DJBebe thank you! I'm still bleeding brown when I wipe but it's starting to get less so hopefully whatever irritation I have in my uterus is calming down. My breasts are still sore (not as sore as they were before) and I've started to get queasy sometimes but that's about it. I've got an appointment on Thursday so just trying to rest until then. Although I now have a cold great! How are you? Has the spotting subsided for you? X

kevintheorangecarrot · 07/03/2020 10:00

I had exact same thing at 9w. Had a lot of brown discharge it was literally like brown egg white (sorry this is also TMI). It stopped after a couple of weeks. All was fine. X

DJBebe · 07/03/2020 23:26

I'm good thank you @SassyPants87. My spotting stopped although i sometimes still have some light cramping. My breasts are sore , my nausea is getting better fluctuates a lot, some days are horrible. I am very tired and breathless all the time ( i am not fat). Although all the symptoms I'm enjoying it and try not to worry too much. Keep me posted. We'll be fine and in a few months we will be taking about our babies. @kevintheorangecarrot how far along are you?
