I'm 10 weeks today, feel another dry itchy irritating cough coming along, last time I didn't have anything and it was awful, this time I want to take medicine, any suggestions?

Simple linctus is I believe the only one you can take. Maybe honey and lemon type ones as well but simple linctus is definitely ok, we keep it on the antenatal ward at work.

I had one for four weeks, I spoke to the chemist who told me I couldn't have anything but the only grounding for this is they won't test it on pregnant women but the stuff you can get from the aisles in theory seems ok as she couldn't see any ingredients that could cause issues. She did say there were some behind her counter she 100% couldn't sell.

I didn't take anything, however her advice did comfort me

Pharmacist told me no when I was pregnant
. Had an awful cough for weeks. Basically said honey and lemon is pretty much the best you can do.

Not lemsip tho as has decongestants. I found hot orange squash with lemon juice and honey worked well

I found a throat spray at Holland and Barrett, that was reviewed by other pregnant/breastfeeding users. Soothers are also ok. Hope you feel better soon.

I had whooping cough when pg. The GP advised Simple Linctus in hot black tea with a spoonful of honey. Couldn't take anything else.

Thanks guys. Soooo annoying that I can't just have regular cough syrup 😫. Will go out in the hunt for simple Linctus today

I used children's Tixylix on midwifes recommendation and honey and lemon sweets
