Bit of a rambly post, sorry. I'm only 6+3 but I'm already suffering very, very badly with nausea and vomiting which lasts all day with no let up other than about 10 minutes after I've eaten, and about 2 hours in the early evening. I've also been diagnosed with a haemorrhagic corpus luteum cyst which is causing me 10-15 minutes of excruciating pain every hour and a half or so, where I am doubled over and can barely breathe or speak. I work with young children and I struggled through work this week other than a day off on Wednesday for an emergency scan, but Thursday and Friday were absolutely awful. I was sick multiple times including once into a waste paper bin as I couldn't make it to the toilet, and I'm trying to deal with this and the cyst pain whilst trying to hide the fact I'm pregnant from most people (my line manager and HR know). Luckily I'm off next week, but I'm meant to be going back at 7+5 and I have no idea how I'm going to manage it until 12-13 weeks. I don't get paid sick leave, so it would be a big financial struggle to be off work, so not a decision I would take lightly by any means. Has anyone else been signed off work with early pregnancy related illness? Are doctors generally obliging about this? I can't shake the feeling that women deal with this all the time and continue working - I feel like I'm being a baby. But honestly, how are people managing it?!
