4d scans

Hi,

Has anyone had a 4d scan before? I've had a look online and they are between £50-100 in my area. What do you think? Are they worth having?

I think part of it is the fact the 20 week scans aren't always 100% correct when telling if it's a boy or a girl so i think i would like to make sure!

I had a gender scan with dd at 16 weeks and then 20 weeks they did all the health checks and then confirmed she was a girl.

How far along are you?

They did a preview in 4D but she was still so little it wasn't that great

I had a 4D scan at 28weeks and it was amazing, the photos of her face were so clear and she looked exactly the same when she was born, I’d definitely recommend it. I think the clinic said the best time to have is between 25 and 30 weeks.

I've done it in each of my pregnancies and love it. I did mine in the third trimester, I couldn't go from 20 weeks to birth without seeing my babies again and the scan being 4d was a bonus.

I've had 2 4d scans already. Attached are pics. I'm currently 15 weeks Smile

Where I live all scans after 20 weeks are 4d. Just a heads up, its very random how clear picture can be depending on the position. Our 20 and 24 week scans were very clear, our 28 week we couldn't see anything really as the baby had face pushed into placenta and feet in the way of face and umbilical cord all near face.

I had a 4D at 29 weeks and it was so worth it, we made about £60. Was lovely to see little ones features! We didn’t find out the gender though so only looked at baby’s upper body :)

I've been having regular growth scans and the consultant always switches to 4D view to give us a peek! I had one super clear photo of babies face which is amazing, so clear, but the rest haven't been as good. I think it can be really hit and miss how clear they are on the day.

I had 4d scans both things, around 26w I think.

What amazes me is when I look at them I can very clearly see which child is which, even at that early stage!

I had a 4d scan at 24 weeks and 100% think it's worth it - the images are SO clear. They are expensive but worth it IMO x

HighOnStilts · 15/02/2020 18:39

Would definitely recommend having one before 30 weeks. I had one done at 31 weeks which was far too late, the scan wasn't very clear and the placenta/umbilical cord was in the way. Some of her scan photos made her look like she was deformed and I ended up finding them quite upsetting to look back at. I'm jealous of the people who had amazingly clear scans! X
