Hi there

17 weeks with my first baby. I have no family to ask this to.

Was driving home from work last night and swerved on ice. I’m fine, car is fine, but when I was swerving I twisted my stomach and by the time I got home I had really bad cramp. I woke up at 7:15 for work this morning and was in so much pain I couldn’t stand up straight! Really sore pain up both sides of my stomach and I also have sciatica which isn’t helping! I have phoned in sick to work and been in bed since. I don’t want to get up because it hurts so much. And for reference, I’ve got Endo and my pain relief before was 30mg of codeine as paracetamol doesn’t touch me.

Should I phone maternity unit or just leave it? Any advice? Thanks

Phone maternity, better safe than sorry especially if there is pain there this morning

Maybe see a doctor. It sounds like you might have pulled a muscle

I would get checked out just to be on the safe side.

Yes, ring them. At the very least because it will set your mind at rest if they say it’s nothing to worry about. And they will probably be able to advise you on pain relief.

There’s no point in sitting worrying when you can get some proper advice at the end of a phone Smile
