Anti sickness wristbands

Hi all
I'm on holiday at the moment and 8 weeks pregnant. Sickness was pretty horrible before I was flying and I was terrified of being sick whilst flying so I bought some magnetic 'acupuncture' wristbands from Boots and oh my GOD they were amazing. Zero nausea or vomiting. I've become very tempted to wear them all the time because without them my appetite is non existent and nausea and vomiting basically ruin my day. Are they safe to use? The pharmacist said it was ok to use during travel but I'm wondering about all the time.
Please advise.

I used them a lot in the first trimester - really helped me and no adverse affects for me or my or baby, she is 3 now.

@Maz91 I wore these throughout my entire first trimester (as in 24/7) as they were the only things that touched my morning sickness.. I could feel it creeping back within 15 minutes of taking them off. Everyone told me they were totally safe as it's no chemicals, just a pressure point.. only thing is I was left with quite sore wrists from the indentations after constantly wearing them but it was worth it to not feel so nauseous! Good luck xx

I only took them off to shower until about 15 weeks. I felt like I had to wean myself off them in the end! But they were amazing.

I wore them a lot during my first trimester too. I thankfully didn't suffer with sickness, but the nausea feeling was there. They really helped combat that.

@MsChatterbox I felt like that too.. took them off but kept them in my bag just incase I needed them back on again Grin oh the things that pregnancy does to us! (Like posting on MN at 2:55am when the insomnia is real!)

Ibizababyy · 14/02/2020 04:04

Used them throughout both my first and current pregnancies until about 25 weeks. Perfectly safe! No idea if they are a complete placebo effect or not but anything that helps right!?

MsChatterbox · 14/02/2020 07:57

@squashie34 hahaha so true the insomnia was real last night 🤣🤣

MsChatterbox · 14/02/2020 07:58

@Ibizababyy I can't imagine it is placebo because I was so skeptical and almost willing it not to work like ha this is silly!

I’m 14 weeks now and haven’t taken them off since 4 weeks except for showering etc. I thought it was a load of crap and was a bit Hmm in Boots thinking what a waste of £10, but actually they’ve been the best relief from the sickness. As soon as I shower without them I get nauseous straight away so will definitely have to wean myself off them later. I checked with the midwife who said they’re safe to wear at any time.
