Miscarriage or ectopic confusion

So, Monday 7th I had heavy bleeding with clots lasted two days then brown spotting. Went to EPU and said let’s do HCG tests every 48hrs
Monday 47
Wednesday 51
Friday 108
They then booked me in for a scan which was today. Absolutely nothing was seen (Transvaginal ultrasound and belly) and the nurse told me that the miscarriage probably happened when I bleed last week. Obviously both devastated!
Today more bloods taken and they have gone up to 640! So, I’m under no elusion that Something isn’t good. Has anyone else experienced this? I’m I right thinking this is possibly ectopic as bloods still rising. Doctor called me More bloods being done on Saturday. (Wanted to do a scan 7days later, to which I said I want something sooner) advise would be amazing

They wouldnt see anything on svan until hcg levels are 1500 or your at least 6 weeks, how many weeks would you be ?

Unfortunately until your hcg gets over 1500 when a sac should be visible in the uterus it is impossible to say for certain whether this is an ectopic or miscarriage

I was about 8 weeks before they could even see the sac. Mad bleeding as well. Fingers crossed for you

Usually by 6 weeks with a vaginal ultrasound I'd expect to see at least a sac, in rare cases the sac is seen later than this but that would be rare. When I had an ectopic, they did a vaginal ultrasound and couldn't see anything in the womb, she then had a look around my tube are and ovaries and saw that there was a fresh blood supply going to one of my tubes which indicated ectopic. My hcg levels continued to rise and they said miscarry naturally didn't look likely, I was given a choice between the mex shot which is a chemo drug and surgery, I opted for surgery.

Sorry you're going through this, they should rescan you before you have to make any decisions x

Thanks red wine! I could do with a red wine!! Haha!! I don't have much hope my levels are very low. Xx

Maria, this is exactly what i thought they would have checked today. At the time there's so much going through your head and the doctors were absolutely useless. Should I be sent for a scan again. I'm going to ask some of the points you've mentioned. It's funny because myself and other half are sure we asked this stuff but shock does funny things to your mind and we can't remember. Xx
