Faint positive then negative test today?

I took a test yesterday that came up positive, I had to squint but I could see it. And then an hour or so later it was clearly visible (I have a picture but it won’t let me upload? First time post - no idea) anyway, when I took that test I had been holding needing a wee for about 2 hours, not intentionally I just hadn’t had time, and then I took a test today around midday to confirm and it’s come back negative ? No line at all? Which would be wrong the positive or the negative ? I’m so confused, the only day I could have conceived would be 01/02 so it’s literally 12 days ago, is this why it’s not showing up in the test today?

Try testing again with your first morning wee tomorrow. It also may be a tad early, when's AF due?

@hmfair54 well I forgot to post I am on the pill, I take it non stop due to PMS issues on the advice of the doctor but I had a bought of sickness two weeks ago, so that could have affected the pill working but my point is that I don’t ever have a period due, and the last one I had was years ago before I started taking the pill, so I have nothing to go off apart from the sickness which was 31/01 for a few days, and the day 01/02 was the day I saw my partner (we don’t live together)

It will be because your urine is diluted, they normally suggest to hold for at least a minimum of 4 hours, but FMU is always best. Try again in the morning :)

Ahh okay, in that case I'd test again over the course of the next few days and if you keep getting inconclusive results then maybe see your gp for bloods to find out for sure ☺️ best of luck for whichever result you're after x

Thanks for responding! I took another test this evening that was a faint positive again.... I’m now having brown discharge though, is this normal? Wish I hadn’t even tested now with all this worrying
