Week 11 + concerns = Terrified

I'm exactly at week 11 and had a scare when I saw dark brown-greyish discharge yesterday, symptoms (nausea + sensitive boobs) disappearing and started stomach cramping. This is my first baby and I am still waiting to see if my baby is safe. It's nerve-wracking.

I have no symptoms as of today but heard my baby's heartbeat yesterday at the ultrasound clinic. Doctor called me and said he didn't call me because he never got the stat report from the ultrasound clinic and even though I heard the heartbeat, I am still not in the clear until he sees ultrasound results. He isn't in the clinic today and my actual doctor will be in on Thursday (this other doc was there when I needed urgent help). Worried sick! Waiting for the clinic and another doc to step in and call me back in an hour! Please send me good vibes!

Hi, I'm sorry you are having this worry. Did the sonographer mention if the baby was measuring the right size for your dates? If it was and you have heard/seen the heartbeat yesterday then that's a good sign. It's also usual for symptoms to taper off at about 12/13 weeks. I hope someone calls you soon!

@Teakind: Thank you for the warm words. The doc called and said she looked at the scan and it looks fine. She mentioned that there were no concerns reported by sonographers/ultrasound clinic - she can't say anything about cervix opening as it was not reported or anything else to be concerned about. She said that if the discharge and cramps increase between now and my next scan (next week), I should head to immediately to the emerg at a nearby hospital to get myself checked.

I had the exact same experience around 8-9 weeks. After a really stressful day I spotted dark brown and lost all symptoms for a few days and was worried sick however these symptoms come back with vengeance! I was told brown blood was old blood and was all fine. I understand the panic and the waiting is horrible all I can say is try not to worry! I'm now 21+1 and all well Smile wishing you all the best!xx

@Leigh134: Congrats on 21+ weeks! Thank you for the comforting words. I am trying to be calmer now. The 1st Tri is freaky and I guess it's all new experiences. It's good to know I am not alone and both your words and @Teakind's are just what I needed. Ofcourse the doc's helped in that as well. Smile

@NinaNg I’m so glad the doctor was reassuring. I hope the wait until your next scan goes quickly. The first trimester is so tough!
