Starting business whilst on maternity leave

Hi everyone,

I'm going on my maternity leave in 9 weeks and will be getting SMP from my current company.
I trained as a PT last year and started my business as a sole trader, then fell pregnant so put it on hold.
I'm looking to re-start it up towards the end of my maternity but wondering if by doing this will it affect my maternity pay?
I only get the standard 90% for 6 weeks then 33 weeks at the current rate. I'll be using my holiday allowance at the end of my maternity with the weeks unpaid in between.

Just not sure on rules earning whilst on maternity, any advice will be appreciated :)

For self employed you are allowed to work up to 10 days throughout your maternity leave to still be eligible, but i'm not sure if this is the same case when you are employed at the same time. Sorry!
