Spotting after bowel movement 8 weeks pregnant

Hi all,

So I'm approx 8 weeks today, have my booking app next week. This is baby #3 for me. I've just been for a bowel movement, which was quite strained. After I had pink vaginal spotting. I have red spotting from the other end due to haemorrhoids. But this was vaginal to. This is the first time this has happened.

I experienced this when I had a mc at 12 weeks after baby #1, I went on to have a healthy baby after that. So am scared.

Could this just be normal? Should I call the mat unit to see if they will scan me to put my mind at rest? I dont want to be dramatic..

Anyone had a similar experience? Xx

I had exactly the same twice, once at 8 weeks and once at 10 weeks. Not had baby yet but I'm now 17 weeks and all fine so far. Spoke to midwife and she said it was normal but please do ring triage just in case (as for any bleeding). Good luck Flowers

I had this as well- it turned out there was a miniscule nick somewhere in my uterus, that would result in a few drops of blood after going to the loo for a few days. All was fine after that, I'm now 28 weeks.

Been for a scan and all is well. Saw babies little heart beating! I'm 8+ 1. They couldn't see a reason for the bleed so hopefully it doesn't happen again x

I had this too in 2 pregnancies. Were you a bit constipated or was it very hard? My cervix was irritated when i strained and had hard large poos
