Early ultrasound?

Hi! Found out I'm pregnant last week. Nearly 6 weeks pregnant (I think!) I suffer with anxiety and still can't believe im pregnant despite doing a lot of tests!! I'm not suffering with any symptoms so again it doesn't feel real. Any advice on getting an early scan done? I don't think I can wait until 12 weeks..!

I got one done this weekend after some really shitty comments made from my boss which kicked my anxiety in to high gear. I thought I was 8+5 but they said I was roughly 7+2... Still we saw baby and saw a heart beat and was told everything was healthy. It definitely helped ease my anxiety.

What I would definitely recommend is making sure you go late enough so that you can actually see something as going and seeing just a sac I can imagine would just make anxiety worse x

From what I've heard and read, they can cause even more worry and anxiety. You'll see very little at six weeks. It also puts a strain on the NHS when women call up worried and ask for scans because the private ultrasound hasn't picked anything up (because at that stage there's nothing to see).

Save your money!

I had one at 6 weeks because it was NYE and I couldn't believe there was actually a baby in there and, if there wasn't, I wanted to drink a lot of champagne. It definitely helped me although I still went in for my ELCS at 39 weeks convinced they were going to cut me open and not find anything (they did find something of course - DS is snoozing on me now)

I went at 6 and 1/2 weeks, because I was very anxious. It helped me as I saw the little heart beat. I would wait until closer to 7 weeks if you can and you will have a greater chance of seeing something incase you got your dates wrong.

I had one at 7 weeks due to spotting and wish I never. I saw heart beat and was told everything was fine. I then went on to miscarry the day before 12 week scan. The early scan really gave me a false sense of security and now I wish I had waited.

I had one at what I thought was 7+5 but baby actually only measured 6+1...I was lucky to hear a heartbeat but if It had been just a couple of days earlier, there probably wouldn't have been anything to see.
Definitely wait till 8ish weeks if you can.

I personally could not have waited till 12 weeks and was lucky I was in a different country where early scans are standard to rule out ectopics.

I had a little bleeding and my doctor booked me in for 2 early scans, at 6 weeks and 7.5 weeks. You can't see anything at the 6 week scan, its just sort of, actually ill post a pic of mine below =)
But the 7.5 week scan, you can see the little heartbeat on the monitor, which can really put your mind at rest! Saying that...anything can really happen in the following weeks, and its not until you're past 12 weeks that you can feel a little more comfort that the pregnancy is here to stay.
I actually took tests still even at 15 weeks because I could not believe that I was!

Bottom pic is the 6week, top pic is the 7.5 =)

Similar experience to @Bubblysqueak. In my last pregnancy I had a scan at 6 weeks and all was well with a heartbeat and then I went on to have a silent miscarriage (no symptoms lost, no signs of a mc). A scan is a moment in time and I'd honestly wait.
