Difficulty breathing

I’ve been to the doctors today because I’m finding it hard to breathe, my chest muscles are struggling. He thinks it’s because the baby is pushing everything up. I’m 22 weeks and have asthma. Has anyone else had this? Any tips for how you cope with it?

Hi, Im 21+5 and today I had real shortness of breath despite the fact I was just pottering around my flat (this is not something that would normally happen to me!). No advice, just wanted to let you know its not just you.

Hi, I also had the same symptoms as you have described. I am also 22 weeks pregnant.

I went to the doctor and was sent to hospital to get checked.. few questions I was asked>

Long haul flight recently?
Legs/calves swollen or red
Any temps
Any coughing or bringing up blood

All sounds scary but they were trying to determine if I had a clot in my lung due to the shortness of breath.

If any of the above questions are yes - you should go to the doctor. I'm in no way medically minded.

Thankfully they confirmed after a few tests that my shortness of breath was down to pregnancy and it can be quite normal but I do feel relieved to know.

Good luck!
