I have put some Eucalyptus oil in my oil burner/diffuser thing (you know those plug in thingys that pump steam out etc) for 10 mins whilst I went out the room , ready to come and sit on the bed with it doing its thing to try and ease my cough . I suddenly thought ‘oh I better check to see if I can actually use it at 11 weeks pregnant’ and have come across all these things online saying certain essential oils are not safe in pregnancy and to certainly avoid in the first trimester, Eucalyptus being on the list !!! Oh my !! And so is Lavender?? Well blow me I’ve been putting lavender spray on my pillow every night since I even got pregnant , and now had my diffuser burning for 10 mins prepping the bedroom. Can anyone tell me to stop panicking and it won’t do any damage ?? I turned it off and took it out the room as soon as I saw the first article but seriously lavender too?? Luckily I’ve had two scans and little bean is growing well with a great heart beat etc so the lavender hasn’t done any harm but now I’m worried about this bloody eucalyptus oil . It doesn’t say on the packet unsafe for pregnant women but obviously Dr Google says otherwise !? Aghrrrr ! Anyway I’m using Vicks on my feet now and so far so good Cough wise 😷
Surely 10 mins of oil burning in water couldn’t have done any harm whilst I was out the room anyway ? Windows are open now ! 😖

You will be absolutely fine! Don’t give it another thought, you’re being a silly billy (in a nice way) x

I can't speak from experience as currently TTC but came across your post & wanted to comment to help put your mind at rest & to say I think you will be absolutely fine, I think most of the warnings are for excessive use & aren't normally for if they are inhaled more if they are within body oils/creams.
Congratulations on your lovely news ♥️

I did exactly the same, but sat for an hour in a room with a Calpol plug in diffuser before I checked. So I too did some Googling- apparently it may cause miscarriage because it causes uterine contractions. But so does breastfeeding and I do that every day so 🤷

10 minutes won't make a difference. Try not to worry. Lavender is great when you are in labour though I had a really long 1st stage and midwife recommended lavender in my bath which was amazing. Try and hold out until then!
