NCT / Bump & Baby Club

Hi all,

I live in SW London and looking at antenatal classes. There are two options coming up near me - usual NCT and then Bump & Baby Club. NCT is a little pricier but has a few more sessions, Bump & Baby Club seems to accept more couples. I don't have many friends who've gone through either/had children yet so just wondered if anyone had experience to share of either? While the information side will be useful at the sessions, I'm also keen to do them as a way of meeting (hopefully like-minded) people.

Thanks in advance!

I'm also in SW London and wondering the same thing! I've just turned 30 and due in July and we are currently registered with NCT and have heard good things but now wondering if Bump & Baby would have more couples our age!

Bump and Baby was fantastic for us. Five of us are still good friends almost 3 years on :D

I spoke to the lady in charge of our local NCT classes and she came off as the worst stereotype of a judgemental, interfering busybody that I'm terrified of! This was in North London though and it probably varies massively with who you get. Why not give them a call and get the feel of each option?

A word of warning though: not one of us remembered any of the info we 'learned', but the benefit of suddenly having local friends in at the same babystage should never be underestimated.

hey - I know this comment was from a little while ago, but whereabouts in North London were you? I'm in the Bound Green / Muswell Hill area, trying to pick between NCT and Bump and Baby club..

If my experience of NCT is anything to go by, I’d recommend you steer well clear! Nice group of people but crap course leader and poor content.

ahh thanks @WhatWouldPennyDo! I was coming to the conclusion I should go for B&BC. That's helped me make my mind up.
