Couldn't take NT measurement at 12 wk scan

As the title suggests, I had my 12 scan today & was measuring 12+1. But the sonographer said that the baby was too small to measure and I need to go back Friday for another scan. She said my womb would have stretched. Should I be worried? (I currently am!) x

Hmm...baby obviously isn't 'too small' because it is measuring to date. She probably meant baby wasn't in the right position to be measured today, which happens a lot. I had to go back a week later after my 20 week scan because they couldn't measure certain things because of the way baby was laid - I went back the week after and he had moved and they got their measurements they wanted and that was that!

I wouldn't worry! :)

Mine took about an hour for her to measure the NT as baby was being uncooperative and refusing to get in the right position so I don’t think it’s unusual for them to struggle to get a clear measurement. I had to do lots of star jumps and coughing to get baby to move into a clearer position and even then it wasn’t perfect. My scan was at 13 weeks so perhaps as it was a little bigger it made it easier to see more clearly??

Neither of mine were in the right position at the twelve week scan. First time I had a blood test at my sixteen week appt and had to wait until nearly twenty weeks for the result. Second time, I paid for the harmony test. I had three anomaly scans the first time as well because the baby was never in the right position to get all the measurements.

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. Hoping everything will be ok x
