I am currently pregnant with my third baby, and never experienced my waters breaking as an indication of labour, as I had my waters broken by midwives both times in hospital. I'd love to hear others stories of strange places their waters have broken or gone into labour?

I reached up to hang out the washing at 38 weeks and they went sort of subtly pop
Labour didn’t start until later that day though

Errrm all over the poor midwife! She was about to examine me but I had a contraction. I strained and my waters popped and soaked the front of her tunic. Everyone was shocked and I was mortified. She stood for a few seconds then laughed her head off. Relief. Had dd within the hour!

Getting off the hospital bed after being in labour 15 hours, partner pulled me up while he was kneeling on the floor, my waters gushed all over him, his shoes and trousers and the baby wasn't far behind lol.

Not me, but my mum's waters popped when she was queuing in a video store to return rented videos... It soaked the carpet! The employees were very good about it - had a chuckle, called my dad at work and organised transport for her to the hospital.
