It's 8 years since I was last pregnant so it could be that I've forgotten what it was like or just that I'm eight years older (I'm 37) and eight years less fit.

I've got a bump but it's not huge but if I have a busy day, it aches??!! After walking not very far, I'll feel like my undercarriage is going to fall through. I find it hard to turn in bed or get up off the sofa. I'm so so tired, my back aches, my body aches.

It all feels way too soon to feel like this.
I'm sure last time I was still feeling relatively mildly pregnant.

Is it just me being horribly unbrave or is this what happens at this stage?

How does anyone else at a similar stage feel?

I'm totally with you! I'm 23 weeks and feel like I'm at the end. I waddle already, my hips ache my feet ache my back aches! I get breathless all the damn time and none of my clothes fit! Ooooh thanks for the rant OP
On a lighter note are you excited?

MousematsRule · 10/02/2020 08:20

Haha you're welcome MamaBear

Glad it's not just me, thought it might be. Although sorry to hear you're suffering too.

I am VERY excited, just can't wait. How about you? How prepared are you? I'm happy to be pregnant and enjoying feeling her moving around etc, I just feel so old.

When iron levels were checked, they apparently came back very high so I expected to feel a bit supersonic to be honest.

God I'm glad it's not just me! 23 weeks today and feel exhausted. Getting up is the most effort ever, I'm having to roll off the bed to get out, and I can't stand up for long because my back aches and I get tired and out of breath. I'm not that big yet either, have put in maybe a stone, last time I put on 4! So much for the second trimester energy burst!

MamaBearThius · 10/02/2020 08:24

Definitely not just you. Vainly, the most irritating thing is I'd just got down to my target size/weight after gaining so much weight with my first (now 3 years old) and was strutting round in skinny little jeans again, now I've given up and I'm flopping around in maxi dresses! I think I'll ask about my iron levels because even though I'm taking the vitamins I do feel low.
I'm excited yes, I had HG for the first 14/16 weeks which sucked, and then told I have Placenta Previa at my 20 week scan so have to take things easy. Calmed down loads now and feel chilled about it but I'd planned on swimming most days by this point and that's off the cards!

I’m in the same boat. 25 weeks pregnant and 7 years since my last pregnancy. I remember feeling quite Energetic last time maintaining all my exercise up until 37 weeks, not in maternity clothes until 6months. This time I’m big fat and feeling every single ache and pain!! I’m wondering if I felt like this last time but it was so long again I’ve forgotten?!

MousematsRule · 10/02/2020 09:09

@PleaseStopRingingMe I know, hurtling towards third trimester and still waiting!

@MamaBearThius I had planned on long walks to keep fit, and swimming yes! I don't even have energy for pelvic floor exercises!!

@taylor38 my job was a lot different then and I was out and about and travelling all over the place, and I'm sure there was some running involved! I went back 8 years on Facebook the other day to see if I could work out how far gone I was and I was definitely still looking fresh faced and energetic at 7-7.5 months. Maybe it's an age thing

Yes I’m assuming that being pregnant at 38 this time has something to do with it. I naively thought I’d just breeze through it all again. I’m trying to stay active but it’s definitely more effort this time.

LillianFullStop · 10/02/2020 09:21

I'm with you there 23+3 and 3 years since my last pregnancy... I'm groaning to get up or pick something up from the floor and I'm doing a slight waddle already. I breezed through last time and didn't feel awkward until 7-8 months!

flissity · 10/02/2020 09:24

@MousematsRule Also 36 here with 3rd. I was also pregnant 8 years ago, I’m 25 weeks. Definitely aching after a long day, sitting is mainly my issue!! I get achy pains along side is bump. Also slightly panicking I have 15+ weeks of this! My last 2 were 10 and 11 days overdue.

I am mainly ok, just very few days have a ‘bad’ day where I feel exhausted.

Hang in there!!!!

Roozy123 · 10/02/2020 10:15

I felt the same!!
I'm 33y/o And pregnant with my 3rd, my other 2 pregnancies I was in my 20s and did not feel like I do now!!!!

I'm now 35 weeks pregnant and struggling even more.
It's hard to walk, I have sciatica, I'm still being sick daily, my bump is huge and it aches aswell as my back legs and ankles! I can't sleep.

When I'm 38 weeks pregnant I'm being booked in for a section or induction and I'm counting down the days!!!!

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 10/02/2020 13:07

I am exactly the same!

I'm 24+2 and I feel like I've been pregnant for 24 years!! Even my friend said the other day 'surely you're due soon aren't you?' I was like no not even close!

My back aches, my body aches, I have noticed the struggle when bending over to do things like putting socks on etc and I have hyperemesis but that's a whole different ball game!

DessertQueen · 10/02/2020 13:20

22 weeks here, pregnant with my 5th. Im 38 which I suspect doesn’t help, I have three teenagers and a 2 year old. I’m also on antidepressants which always make me feel a bit more sluggish in general even though mentally am feeling good.

I’m exhausted all the time, am in bed as soon as toddler goes to bed most evenings and can’t stop eating chocolate! I’ve caught every bug going since I fell pregnant this time and it just feels like it’s been constant illness and fatigue. I’m also HUGE. I’m excited about the baby but super miserable about being pregnant!

wondering7777 · 10/02/2020 13:41

I'm in my mid-30s, 28 weeks pregnant and am feeling the best I have been throughout the whole pregnancy. I'm enjoying food, I don't feel nauseous or tired anymore, have lots of energy and my bump isn't so big that it gets in the way.

I'd say I started to feel much better from around week 20/22 onwards - maybe you'll have a late second trimester surge OP? Fingers crossed for you!

LondonMummy1987 · 10/02/2020 13:50

I'm 19 weeks with my 3rd and feel exactly the same. Ive already got a huge bump, everyone keeps asking me if it's twins, or if my dates are wrong, it's driving me mad. Add in the ligament pains and constant tiredness and I feel like I have been pregnant for years, but still got 5 months to go!
