Been having itchy top of feet since yesterday both in the same place and its driving me nuts. Anything I can do? And is it anything to worry about?

Itching on feet and hands should be mentioned to midwife especially if it's worse at night can be a sign of ICP I have it. It affects how your liver process bile can be managed with medication try keep cool cold flannel on hands and feet but mention it at your next appointment it can be ruled out with a blood test

Don't panic but do phone your midwife - itchy hands and feet is a sign of OC.
I had it during both pregnancies, it's darn uncomfortable as you get itchier and itchier but disappears after birth(although your choice of hormonal contraceptives is vastly diminished)

Oh okay thank you shall I give them a call or wait for my appointment which is in a week?

I found putting my feet in a tub of cold water helped with itching. That was in the summer though, it might not be as appealing at this time of year..

@goldeline were you diagnosed with icp though?

@mypoorfurbaby what do you mean in relation to hormonal contraceptives being diminished? I had OC with my second child (who is now 10) and was not told anything about this.

OP, there is no need to panic as pp suggested but it is worth mentioning to midwife via phone call so things can be ruled out & advice can be given. Hope it eases soon for you.

I was told that I needed to be careful which hormonal contraception I had following OC.
I always mentioned it to the DR or nurses when they talked about contraception and they all agreed. My choices were the mini pill( the one you take at the same time everyday) or coil. We stuck with condoms until dh had the snip

That's interesting, times have clearly changed since my youngest was born. I'll discuss it next time I go, not that it matters now Smile
