Placenta troubles

Hi this is my first post, but after some pregnancy issues I’m looking for advice from anyone that has experienced something similar.
Last week I started bleeding quite badly at 30 weeks. Investigations at hospital revealed abnormal umbilical artery results and that baby has suddenly dropped from completely average size all the way through to being on the 10th percentile. Although the hospital were great and gave me weekly apps to monitor the issues, they were extremely vague about what outcomes to expect. So if anyone has experienced anything similar that could shed some light in what to expect, if the baby is likely to be delivered early and/or experience any issues, or how long the placenta can last if working insufficiently please let me know.

I had an umbilical artery ultrasound on Thursday as they expected problems, all was ok. Now they know you have a problem they will keep a close eye on you, it’s best that you know. Problems only occur when you are not aware. Yes there is a chance of early delivery if placenta stops functioning properly but sometimes I was told baby is better out than in, remember you are 30 weeks so your baby would be small yes, but in good hands if was delivered early. Try not to worry you will be monitored closely now.

Hi

I had issues with my first baby. 2nd centile and born at 32 weeks when I delivered severe and sudden pre eclampsia. That could certainly be one possibly complication. So please look at the symptoms and be aware of them. I was told my placenta was small and failing on delivery.

Make sure you monitor your baby’s movement and go in for monitoring if you’re concerned.

I also had issues with second. Umbilical cord problems were picked up at an extra scan (due to my risk) so I was monitored closely. Baby stopped growing at normal rate and then completely at 36 weeks. I delivered soon after. Hospital were great once they knew there were issues and I was monitored closely and concerns taken seriously.

If you’ve any questions please ask and I’ll try to answer.
