We had protected sex(condom) on 10th last month. My period was due on the 1st and it's always clockwork. I'm still waiting. I just tested using pregnancy test strip today and yesterday and it is negative. I am hoping it's true! I've an appointment next Tuesday with a doc, but I am still nervous. We are done with kids and I really hope I'm not positive.

If you're 7 days late and you have a negative test I'd say it's very unlikely (not impossible) that you're pregnant. Depending on your cycle length you probably weren't even fertile on 10th Jan if your period was due 1st Feb.

Is it possible you are pregnant? Yes, sperm can live inside you for about 5 days so, if you had sex on 10th, you could have ovulated on the 15th which would be just right for your period being due on 1st Feb.

Is it likely? Probably not. If there were no issues with the condom and you've had a BFN days after your period was due then the chances are slim but only a doctor will be able to tell you for certain. Did you only do one test? It's more common to get a false negative than a false positive.

FWIW, My cycles have always been very regular but once every couple of years or so, I just completely miss a period or randomly have a 45 day cycle or something then it goes back to normal the next month. Never had any explanation for it.

My period is sometimes late if I'm mega stressed - e.g. I was due 10 days or so before we last moved house, lots of issues with worrying they vendors would withdraw as they lost their house and a few other bits, but we moved in and my period started that night (luckily I had suspected as much so had kept sanitary stuff in my handbag!).

I'm also late maybe once every six months, then the next one is early (but would have been on time if my previous one was on time). I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure you'll be fine 😊

Finally got my periods this morning! So relieved. Phew! Wonder why it was so late. But yay! Though I don't like periods, times like these would make me so desperately want it.
