Morning ladies,

Had my 12 week scan last night, I'm terrible at all this skull/nub theory, in fact I don't even know what I'm looking at

Based on the skull I’d say boy as girls are a lot bigger and rounder :) x

Haha I thought the nub was the pointy bit thing by the bottom area, a bit like in one of my scan pictures, it actually looks like you can see a tiny willy

My sons first scan picture looked very much like this at the bottom end and I remember thinking oh no that must be something else at 12 weeks! 😂 good luck with your pregnancy

It's too early to see a tiny willy lol. Boy and girl nubs both look the same at this gestation, the nub theory just works on the angle it's pointing compared to the spine, if that makes sense.
And it's only really accurate from 12+5 as the nub can still be rising before then.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I'm on a few Facebook groups and this is what they say.

My untrained eye can only see a possible nub on the last pic and i'd guess girl from that but not confident.

@sel2223 that is so fascinating I've never heard of that theory before! I've just had a quick google to read about it and find it all so very interesting 😊
