I have a sweep this morning at 40+1 any ideas of the chances of it working

1st sweep nothing happened for me, but after the 2nd sweep I lost my mucus plug and contractions started 48hours later x

I had a sweep on Wednesday at 38+5. The midwife mentioned they work around 50% of the time. So far I'm still waiting but she did write that I was 1-2cm. Good luck!

They worked with my first three babies. I was 40+2 when given the sweep and they were all born the following day.

She managed a "good sweep" this morning and said I'm 3cms and will be surprised if i go on over the weekend

I was due on the Sunday 30th august 2015, I was booked in for a sweep originally on the Wednesday, but I started having contractions on the Tuesday so I decided to see if things would progress naturally. They didn't so I ended up having a sweep at 3pm on the Friday (40+5).
I got to the hospital at 9 that evening, was in the birth centre by 10.30, had my waters broken around 2am, then gave birth at 6.58am the Saturday morning (40+6).
It didn't hurt or feel uncomfortable at all and it did help move things along (the head wasn't fully engaged so things wouldn't have progressed on their own).

I was supposed to be induced at 39 weeks I had a sweep at 38+3 and the midwife told me my cervix wasn't thin enough there's no way I'd be ready at 39 weeks, the next day my waters broke and my baby was born the next day!! Good luck xx
