I will be 9 weeks on Sunday. So after going to the loo this morning, when I wiped I had some light brown discharge. I wiped again and there was a bit more. I haven't been sexually active in last few days so I'm getting a bit worried that the spotting is random and might mean something bad 😔. Anyone had the same? X

I have had this on-off for a few weeks, it was light brown for a week or so, then went dark brown, then turned into actual spotting but is now back to light brown. Was referred for a scan as I had some cramping with the spotting but all looks OK (I'm 9+4 and scan was on Wednesday) The EPU said to try not to worry unless bleeding enough to fill a pad. But everyone is different so it is worth getting it checked out. In my case brown was normal Smile

I had brown spotting constantly for over two weeks ( basically from weeks 6 to 8). I did actually go see an obstetrician as I was quite worried, but they said that it is quite common for women to spot in the first trimester. As the other posters have said, brown is ok, and it's when it's red which is more cause for concern. Have you had an early scan? I had one which actually really put my mind at ease, so it could be worth it if you are worried xxx

@Flossie333 yes I had a scan at 7 weeks and saw heartbeat, they said everything looked normal, hoping that this is just a blip and not anything to worry about x

I had constant brown, pink and red discharge between weeks 5 and 10. No cause was found, and my baby was fine. Try not to panic (I know, easier said than done) Chances are all will be well. Hugs x

I was also told only red was concerning but brown was the only symptom of my first missed miscarriage so it isn’t always harmless. It’s always best to get checked out.

I have had brown spotting at 6 weeks, 10 weeks and 12 weeks. First time freaked out saw out of hours doctor who basically said it was a threatened miscarriage wasn't bothered and to wait it out - it had stopped the next day and scan at 8 weeks was all good. The day I had brown spotting at 10 weeks I had my midwife booking appointment so spoke to her about it she didn't seem too concerned but asked some questions and seems to think it may be related to bowel movements if I have struggled to go for a few days (sorry if tmi!) My last spotting was last week and I noticed that I had pretty bad constipation around that time and like last two times stopped by the next day. If you are worried do speak to someone but it can be related to so many different things

I had it with 3 successful pregnancies and with one missed mc which was only diagnosed at 12 week scan

Try not to worry as it’s veery common

Consultant told me if you spot with ur first pregnancy then you’re likely to spot with all
