Newborn bruised lip

Hi all. So my 4 week old baby boy has/is been struggling to latch on and breastfeed and had his posterior tongue tie snipped yesterday. A few days ago I noticed a small red bruise on his lip which seems to be getting worse. It doesn't seem to bother him but I'm worried. I'm assuming it's from sucking hard? I'm also alternating between using and not using shields so could this be causing it? Any advice on what to put on it? I've just been rubbing lanolin on his lip.

I don't think it's the shields. It's probably from sucking hard.

It looks like a cold sore or a blister. Didn’t the person who snipped the tongue tie not mention anything?

Yes she noticed it but didn't seem concerned. It doesn't feel like a lump, just red.
