Cold and Cough

Wonder if anyone knows what I can take to treat a dry tickly cough and cold? I'm 35 weeks now 🙂

I know this sounds completely bonkers but I have two friends who swear by rubbing Vicks menthol onto the soles of their feet to tackle a sickly cough. DS1 refused to be a guinea pig on this, so he rubbed it on his chest instead and that worked. Would that be safe?
Otherwise, sipping honey and lemon solution with some turmeric, cloves and ginger slices helps bring down any inflammation.
