Is feeling this hungry normal?

Hi,

I'm only 12 weeks pregnant, and I'm constantly feeling hungry, tummy starts rumbling and then I start feeling sick.

I just don't think this is normal, had a coffee and 2 chocolate twists from
costa this morning at 9am and by 11.30 I'm starving!!!

I'd definitely be needing a snack by 11:30! Normal or not I'm with you!

Yes it's normal

Ok Wink not just me then, this baby must be constantly hungry, it's ridiculous!!

I've been absolutley ravenous throughout my pregnancy and during the first trimester was the only way to ease the nausea, I'm 24 + 5. I try to make healthy choices (most of the time) but I just keep topping up with peanut butter on toast inbetween meals (at home or at work) and crave sweet things in the evening.

I'm just baffled as to why though, I think we must get the remainders, baby first and then we get the scraps leading us to be hungry all over again

I'm pretty sure this is true, baby takes what they need first, we get the rest. I was ravenous during both my pregnancies, i would often eat 2 breakfasts!

Urkiddingright · 06/02/2020 16:41

Yeah, it’s completely normal. I always need a snack every 2-3 hours.

ncqtime · 06/02/2020 16:44

Yep, normal :)

Spam88 · 06/02/2020 16:47

Definitely normal. My DH thought I was being ridiculous when I was discussing what snacks I could keep by the bed but he didn't understand the INSATIABLE hunger.

Whoever decided you don't need extra calories until the last trimester has clearly never been pregnant.

With DD I would finish lunch and then start thinking about dinner. I stayed with DM for a bit whilst we waited for our house to be ready, and she said I drove her mad with constantly asking what I could eat, what we were having, etc BlushGrin Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, pudding, snack, extra snack!

Wasn't as hungry with DS. I still ate a lot but nowhere near as much as with DD! I was absolutely insatiable.
