When did your sickness/ nausea pass?

I’m officially 12 weeks today and have had a horrible few (7) weeks. I’ve been so nauseas and sick 24 hours a day and have been on medication from the doctor as I’ve been unable to function.

I know everyone is different but I just wondered when everyone else felt better. I’d heard that 12 weeks was the magic number but the doctor mentioned 18 weeks.

I’m so fed up, I haven’t left the house for weeks and time is passing so slowly.

Thanks in advance.

For me it was five months, so yes, about 18-19 weeks. I suffered horrendously and could keep very little down.

Flowers it’s rough.

Seeline · 05/02/2020 08:35

I started to improve at about 16 weeks, as long as I didn't get too tired. Was more or less over it by 18 weeks.

nocluewhattodoo · 05/02/2020 08:35

I was still vomiting in labour, almost my entire pregnancy was spent kneeling by a loo, hopefully yours will pass sooner.

Letsallscreamatthesistene · 05/02/2020 08:35

About 16/17 week mark. It then came back at 30ish weeks, although not as bad.

GiveHerHellFromUs · 05/02/2020 08:35

Mine stopped on the day of my 20 week scan. The kicking started 4 days later!

Ourfamily · 05/02/2020 08:50

Mine had only just stopped! 17 +4! 10 weeks of being sick everyday! Crown Smile I'm so happy! Some nauseous feelings occasionally but nothing for 3 days!! Woohoo!

Sickasadog2020 · 05/02/2020 09:02

Thanks for your replies.

I was so hopeful it would pass soon. But no sign at all. I just feel like my life is on hold.

I’m really not very good at this pregnancy malarky. Sad

Hi, I felt just like you. I’m now 22+1 and it stopped at roughly 18/19 weeks. I still have the odd day where I feel sick all day but in the main feel so much better. At the time I thought it was never going to end.

puds11 · 05/02/2020 09:10

About 39 weeks 😱 it was not a good pregnancy!

Raindancer411 · 05/02/2020 09:24

All the way through the first and seems to be the same the second time around :(

BumbleBeeFlower · 05/02/2020 09:27

Mine lasted until around 20ish weeks and then it stopped and I haven't been sick since but have had the odd wave of nausea.

Really feel for you. It was a horrible time for me and I have been put off ever having another one.

Kezmum14 · 05/02/2020 09:31

Ive felt a lot better this week, no sickness so far but have felt a little sick: I’m 18 weeks.

Nelbert19 · 05/02/2020 10:52

I’m 15+2 and haven’t vomited for 5 days 🤗

Still nauseous and fatigued, but have put on weight for the first time since becoming pregnant (previously lost half a stone)

I have to be careful of activity - if I get over tired I set the hyperemesis off again and I’m stuck in bed/at the toilet for 3-4 horrible days.

Unfortunately, it takes very little to be over tired so I can’t work or do anything social. But at least I’m getting dressed and managing basic housework now! Silver linings!

OzEm · 05/02/2020 18:40

@Sickasadog2020 - I’m exactly the same as you! Coming up for 12 weeks and have been nauseous 24/7 since about 5 weeks. I’m so over it, always having to cancel plans as I just can’t deal with it. Eating constantly doesn’t always help either.

And don’t get my started on trying to get through the long days and work at commuting.

Not much fun is it! Just keep telling myself it will all be worth it (which is sometimes hard to remember) x

FurryGrapes · 05/02/2020 20:28

I felt better at around the 13 week mark. Before then I had no appetite at all and felt nauseated all day.

When I gave birth Sad

Roozy123 · 05/02/2020 20:58

I'm 34 weeks pregnant and still being sick daily.. dizzy, always feel hungover, gagging daily over anything. This has been since around 6 weeks pregnant.
My 1st pregnant I was the same. My 2nd it stopped at 10 weeks.

Amichelle84 · 05/02/2020 20:59

Can the doctor give you something for sickness? I'm being sick about 6 times a day and trying to keep antibiotics down is near impossible. feeling really low and sh*t today.

gossipgirl28 · 05/02/2020 21:13

12weeks +2days...it was like a switch had been flipped and I suddenly didn't feel hungover anymore, ridiculously tired and stopped being sick.

The first few weeks I couldn't get out of bed or function or look after my DD. I still take 1 anti-sickness med a day now in a morning. I'm 15 weeks with baby number 2. I was very ill with my first too. It's truly awful, and no one gets how ill you feel unless they have felt the same.

Hope it passes soon xx

Sickasadog2020 · 05/02/2020 21:55

Thanks for your replies. I’m just so fed up of feeling so crap. I’m miserable and not leaving the house (other than to go to the doctors/ hospital) is making me nuts.
I’m taking ondansetron which takes the edge off it but I still can’t function normally. I’m exhausted too.

Sorry for the moan, it’s nice to know it will hopefully pass soon.

Mine stopped at 12/13 weeks but seems to be coming back now in the third trimester ☹️

GaaaaarlicBread · 06/02/2020 12:49

Hi, congratulations on your pregnancy . Mine peaked at 7 weeks, 9 weeks and has now slightly started to ease at almost 11 weeks . Hold on 💕💕💕

Beau2020 · 06/02/2020 20:44

I'm 14 weeks and I've been vomit free for about 4 days now! I was averaging 4 times of day physically sick but since turning 14 weeks I think I've finally hit that turning point! I can actually eat normal foods now, not just toast and bagels! Let's hope it stops for you too

meow1989 · 06/02/2020 20:51

About 17 weeks, though I was only sick once a week or so and that was mostly brought on by brushing teeth too soon after eating! I did randomly vomit at 34 ish weeks once.

Heismyopendoor · 06/02/2020 20:54

With all three of my DC the sickness didn’t pass until they were a day old. I even vomited on the operating table.

Hope it passes soon for you. I didn’t find preggie pop drops helped a little with my last baby. Anything was worth a try for me lol
