Has anyone else had slow rising hcg and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? The hospital told me to expect to miscarry.

Hi Shell, I'm sorry you're going through this. Do you know your numbers?

DJBebe · 04/02/2020 21:53

Do you have any other symptoms? What prompted them to check your hcg levels? Hope all goes well for you.

Unfortunately slow rising hcg has always signalled a non viable pregnancy in my case (7 losses)

Shell2412 · 05/02/2020 09:11

I had pain on my left side so they were checking if it was eptopic but it wasn't.

I have! I was told that my pregnancy was clearly non-viable but I'm just about to leave to pick up my non-viable DS from school. Conversely my hcg doubled with my second ectopic pregnancy.

Have you got a follow up appointment. Will hope that things work out for you.

Thank you all for you replies. I had a 2nd scan today and was expecting to be told the worst. Last week they could only see a sac and said my hcg was rising slowly so told me I would miscarry, but this week they said the sac had grown from 3mm to 7mm and they could now see the yolk and the start of a fetal pole but they said I have to go back again in a week as it was too small to see a heartbeat. I thought I should be nearly 7 weeks now but the scan is suggesting 5 and 1/2. My last period was 17th December but it was my first one since coming off the pill. I'm so confused. I want to be happy it wasn't bad news today but the doctor didn't seen to suggest it was good news either. Sorry for the rambling.

It is good the sac has grown since last week shell2412. Try not to make too much effort or stress (i know it's eassier said than done) and think positive. Hope this little one is stong. Wishing you a sticky bean. X

Thank you. Have started bleeding today so not looking positive. This has been a roller coaster ride so far.

Hi OP
Was just reading and wanted to shaee my experience.
Had similar situation and somehow the EPU wouldn’t tell me i was MC until i did...
The growth was slow and even though we got to see fetal pole and all it did end up in MC.
But i remember feeling relieved after scan and two days after bleeding.
Obviously i hope yours is not this outcome but just keep in mind that it might be so you are a little prepared.
Personally i would have liked someone to clearly tell me before...
Best of luck
Take care x
