My eczema has come out bad on my arms!! Anyone got any safe stronger recommendation for any I can use?!

I have betamethasone valerate 0.1% at home but I can't seem to see anything on the net about it!

I have had terrible eczema during pregnancy, which I haven't had since I was a small child. It's been horrid so I feel for you! Been back and forth to the GP and was prescribed Betnovate ointment at first and then 0.1% cream. I was told to only use this twice a day, for up to 2 weeks. Alongside that I use Dermol 500 in the shower and to wash hands and apply Hydromol ointment liberally between Betnovate treatments. I have also found O'Keeffe's Skin Repair 48 Hour body lotion really good for itch relief.

Additionally I got rid of any perfumed laundry products in favour of Ecover and Surcare. Took about 3 weeks before things calmed down, and god knows if it's one thing or a combination that eventually worked, but I'm winning at last.
Good luck!

Cetraben cream, sorry not sure of spelling! Can get on prescription or at boots.

@BabyOne90 Well I was prescribed it...so I'd check it out with midwife or doc...but I was told it was okay for a short time! Don't quote me on it Grin

Please try la Roche Posay cicaplast Baum B5 cream.
Google the reviews.
You won’t be disappointed . not specifically for eczema but it works.

It's more dangerous for your baby if you let your eczema get really bad and infected. Steroids are not tested on pregnant women so pharmacists and some GPs don't recommend them but millions of us have used them. Good luck with it.

I saw a dermatologist last year whilst pregnant regarding my eczema. He gave a sort of ‘skincare routine’ which involved betnovate (quite a lot of it actually Confused) I asked if it was safe in pregnancy and I was told it was fine.

I have used Betnovate (but not much) during this pregnancy, thankfully the flare ups haven't been too bad (now 38 weeks) this time around. As well as that for moisturiser all over body I use Childs Farm fragrance free which seems to help.

Eczema is horrible at the best of times, during pregnancy it's awful. Hope it settles down for you.
