Old wives tales or truths what do people think?

What do people think on the 'old wives tales' about gender? Does anyone have any stories on things like high heart rates and sounding like a galloping horse actually relating to them having a girl? & placenta being located on the left or right side?

I've found out that the babies heart rate is between 150-160 bpm and it sounds like a galloping horse... also my midwife found the placenta sound on the left of my belly which online indicates towards having a girl. Every old wives tale I've read about indicates I'm having a girl, I find out next Thursday!!

Anyone have any experiences? 😊

I take them all with a pinch of salt....according to old wives tales, Chinese calendars and a Facebook page on the ramzi theory.....I'm having a half boy/half girl hybrid 😂

For every one that tells you are having a girl, there'll be another saying it's a boy. It's all nonsense.

Longfox · 05/02/2020 21:40

I have a son and I'm pregnant with another boy, both heartbeats sound like horses galloping and not trains..... not that I believe the old wives tales, but that's quite a common one 🙂

How do the old wives' tales work when you're pregnant with girl-boy twins??

fellyjish · 05/02/2020 22:36

All the old wives tales pointed to girl...I had a boy!!

I had High heart rate galloping horses and implantation was felt on the left and I had a girl so all correct for me

Ghost88 · 06/02/2020 06:12

According to scans, nub theories, shape of my bump etc etc I was having a boy - everyone was convinced it was a boy!
Found out at 20 weeks she was a girl, had 5 scans since all confirm definitely a girl. I’m 39+4 now but people still stop me in on my daily travels or in Tesco etc to tell me they think I’m having a boy based on shape of my bump 😂
All nonsense in my opinion!

All my children’s heartbeats have sounded like galloping horses and I have two of one and one of the other Grin

50 % will always be correct so enough stories for it to be correct.

It's all nonsense though.

Precisely. It’s complete rubbish.

I am having boy/ girl twins and the heartbeats do sound different - one train and one horse. However, both heart rates are almost the same (128 and 130 when measured on tues).

No evidence for any of them!
