Normal to be so wiped out by a bug?

22 weeks, had some sort of awful stomach virus late last week.

Haven't had any d&v for a couple of days now thank god but still can barely get out of bed - no appetite but managing to drink and making myself eat small simple meals like toast.

Is it normal to be still so completely on my arse with it even though the symptoms have gone? I feel like in the past I've been ok as soon as the vomiting etc was over.

Baby still very active, just feeling really shit and wondering how long it took others to 'bounce back' and if theres anything I can be doing or taking!

As your immune system is suppressed it makes it easier to pick up bugs, infections, etc. And it takes longer to fight them off. As you've had D&V you'll be feeling weak and run down. Rest and stay hydrated and you'll be back on your feet in no time. Eating little and often will help get your strength up to.

This is me this week 🤧 have had what is essentially a bad cold, in normal life probably wouldn't even have had a day off work. In pregnant life I'm completely wiped out, sleeping all day, can barely move let alone work 😖 Can really feel my body struggling to fight it off!

@bluemoon2468 me too! I usually couldn't care less about a cold, but being pregnant with one is demolishing me. Can hardly sleep at night because my nose is blocked on both sides :(

Ah that makes sense about the pregnancy immune system! I feel less guilty now knowing other people are struggling - I seriously need a lie down after 20 minutes out of bed!!

I am super healthy and active in general but it took me over 4 weeks to get over a cold/flu in the autumn.
Just enjoy the rest I say! ;)
