I woke up this morning around 7am to go use the loo for a pee, as soon as i stood up of the peed a fair amount of liquid came out and I couldnt stop it and every time i took a step forward it kept happening and my PJ buttoms were soaking, there was no smell of pee nor any colour. I continued to use to loo and went back to bed to lay down for a hour and put a clean pad on but there hasnt been much leakage since, but I have been worrying all morning as to what to do, there is also pressure on my pelvic area. Should I contact my midwife? Thanks

Absolutely contact your midwife or triage, you need to be checked to make sure it isn't waters particularly as you're not term

MeanGirls1 · 04/02/2020 11:52

Deffo call your midwife! They'll get you in and can do a test to see if it's your waters. Take note of the time it happened as they'll want to know when you would have to be induced if you don't end up going into labour. Well that's what happened to me anyway, hope this helps

I'm just embarrassed that they tell me I just wet myself and send me home

Don't let embarrassment potentially harm your baby! It doesn't sound like you wet yourself, call the midwife now.

Elliesmommy · 04/02/2020 11:57

Sounds like water. Did it smell sort of like sperm?

BlueHarry · 04/02/2020 11:58

Yes get checked and don't be embarrassed. For me the sensation of my waters breaking was very different from feeling like I was peeing. It felt more like a bucket of water was being bored out through my bits

It could be your hind waters, I think that's what it is called anyway, I had this before I went into labour. I'd ring for advice. I had the little waters break at 5am, started having contractions about 2pm, and DS was born at 12.30 the next day. They broke my proper waters sometime the next day, I don't really remember tbh!

fruitbrewhaha · 04/02/2020 12:00

No that's your waters.

You know when you are weeing even if you are not in control of it.

Hellohello2020 · 04/02/2020 12:37

Sounds like waters. Mine broke at 36 weeks and contractions started about 6 hours later, was induced 24 hours later. I would have been induced on arrival if there was room in the labour ward. When I called they said come straight in to check it's water's and due to being pre 37 weeks I was on iv antibiotics. Good luck.
