Trying to figure out when I conceived

Hi,

My LMP was 21st/22nd Nov & got a positive pregnancy text on 21st Dec. My cycles are roughly 28 days & I bleed for about 2/3 days. I wasn’t tracking ovulation.

I worked out my due date would be roughly 27/28th Aug 2020 based on LMP.

I am trying to work out when I conceived, I DTD on 24th Nov, 4th Dec & 8th Dec. I had a private scan last week that put my due date as 31st Dec.

Is it likely sex from 24th Nov was when I conceived or in Dec?

Just use your LMP to date until you know otherwise. 4th dec seems more likely, sperm can live for 5 days so you could have ovulated during the following week, then another day or two for implantation. Early scans tend to date you later than you think as baby is so tiny it's difficult for them to get a measurement. You'll get it confirmed or otherwise at your 12 week scan. Congrats!

It was almost certainly the December times - you were only on cycle day 2 or 3 on 24th Nov, so let's say sperm lasts 5 days that would put ovulation up to cycle day 7/8 which would be really early (though not impossible!). Much more likely that you ovulated sometime after 4th December and it was one of those times which you conceived. However, if it's a case of paternity then the only way to know is with a dna test after the baby is born.

I think this might be wrong unless you're planning on being pregnant for a long time!

If you have regular, reliable cycles with the lengths you state then it'll be one of the December dates. But your scan will be more accurate than LMP.

This cannot be right, you'd have to be pregnant for 12 or so months for this to be true.

Id say you conceived on the Dec dates, which would mean your due date would be in around Aug-ish time.

You conceived in December I would’ve thought . You’re similar to me, my LMP was 23rd November, I’m due 29th August according to my scan today (got my nhs one next week which will confirm more but today’s scan matched my dates), my fertile window was between 6th December to 12th December , we only had sex once that whole time and it is looking like it was 5 days before ovulation . Sperm can last 5 days in the right conditions, but either way it doesn’t matter you’ll get it confirmed at your 12 week scan. Congrats :)

Your dates are almost identical to mine. I conceived (I think!) around Dec 7th.

So if my scan date put my due date at 31st Aug is most definitely not from when I had it 24th Nov then is that right in what I am thinking? X

My 31st Aug baby was conceived on 13th Dec (ivf so I know the date) and he was born on due date if that helps.

Ooops actually it was 5 days before 13th so the 8th Dec he was conceived

My due date is about 2nd September, and I only dtd on the 10th december with ovulation on about the 12th (though I have a slightly shorter cycle of 26 days) I don't think your November date is possible, no.

My DD was conceived 8/9 Dec and born the following 29 Aug. However I’m guessing this is for paternity reasons, in which case you’ll need a DNA test to be sure

Google conception calculator. My due date is 18th August, I'm 12 weeks exactly and I would have conceived around 24-27th November. So you likely conceived a little bit later. It's not an exact science though

My EDD was 31st August this year and we conceived on either the 8th or 10th December (LMP 29th Nov). I ovulated around 5 days earlier than I thought I had based on my scan dates.
