I don't know it to push it on a bit or just go and see what they say?
Has anyone been through this?

Thats ok. The name '12 week scan' is just colloquial, in reality the appointments are between 10 - 13ish weeks. The sonographer adjusts measurements for the gestation of the baby.

essexanon · 03/02/2020 18:30

Call them and tell them. They done this to me and when I went in, they said I was too early and had to go back in 2 weeks time as the NT scan can only be done between 12-14 weeks. Xx

mable88 · 03/02/2020 18:33

Check your letter maybe? Mine said to call and rearrange if the appointment would be before 11 weeks.

Catlover10 · 03/02/2020 18:35

Yes I would change it as well. It should really be at least 11 and a half to get an accurate NT reading, that seems a bit too early. Anything up to 13.5 would be better than that for accuracy.

Mol5 · 03/02/2020 18:36

You'll be sent away on the day when they realise and asked to come back at least 11.5 weeks to get accurate readings. Better for everyone not to waste time if you can call and ask them to move it back :)

MajorFaffington · 03/02/2020 18:54

If 10+4 based on last period, tell them and ask them to rearrange as they won’t be able to do NT measurement. If that’s your estimated gestation by “your dates” because you have long cycles, they will want to see you then anyway. This happened to me in my second pregnancy and they asked me to come back two weeks later. I could have told them that!

pottypotamus · 03/02/2020 18:59

Yes call and rearrange, I had similar but my appt was too late and I thought I'd be over 14 weeks. So I called and told them I wanted to make sure I was within the range to be able to have the combined screening, so the receptionist brought the scan forward by a week.

NHS says its between 8-14 weeks. it'll depend on the policy in your hospital.

Thanks ladies I'm having the nuchal test and I think that has to be sometime in the 11th week onwards so I'll get it changed

I've got my first scan at 11 weeks 5 days, is that okay? Or will I be sent away?

LRM31 · 06/02/2020 12:59

I am 10 weeks and have still not received any communication about my 12 week scan, should I chase this up with someone?

I have my booking in appointment next Weds so thought maybe they book it in then...

sel2223 · 06/02/2020 17:35

I was told the dating scan should be between 11 and 14 weeks to allow for the combined screening tests to be done.

I would definitely call them and make them aware it's out of that timeframe otherwise you might be sent away with another appointment anyway.

Mine's the opposite....it's really late! I'll be about 13+5 but not 100% sure on my dates so I'm stressing it'll be too late for the combined screening.
