Maternity pay on fixed term contract

Hi ladies
I was wondering if someone can provide me some advise.
I’m on a 23 month fixed term contract which started October 2018. My contact will end start September 2020. I’m due 3rd week of October this year. Will I qualify for SMP? I worked for over 26 weeks and I’m sure I’ll still be employed with them until the 15th week (sometime July) before the baby is born. After the 39 weeks of SMP can I claim anything else?

You should get the normal SMP plus any enhanced benefits. After that it will depend if they have renewed your contract. If they have, you return to work as normal. If not you have to look for another job. If they don't renew your contract, your maternity will start when your contract ends.
