Planned c sections

Hi all,

I am currently 21 weeks pregnant and have discussed with midwife at 8 weeks about having a c section due to having third degree tears and an infection on my liver which caused me to itch incessantly (can't remember the medical name for it). Anyway I have a consultant appointment on Wednesday to discuss it, I guess they will go through my notes? Does anyone know if I they will book the c section then or will I know more to the end of my pregnancy? Just worried really as my partner works away, we are getting married end of may and plus I have a disabled son to sort out also!
I just thought I would check on here to prepare myself for my appointment!

I asked for a planned section because I also had a 3rd degree tear with my first baby. My first consultant appt was at 25 weeks. I was back at 36 weeks and given a date. I wanted to avoid the older one’s birthday (two days before due date) and they didn’t do weekends so I didn’t have a lot of choice over the date as electives are normally not done before 39 weeks.

I saw my consultant at around 26 weeks and then had another appointment at 34 weeks when they gave me the date. I don’t think they normally give you the date until a bit closer to the time

I elected for a section too after tear first time round, had the consultant appointment about the same stage as you. Received the section date about a month later in the post which was normal for my hospital.
Do tell them that you need to know for logistics. I don't think it's unreasonable.
I know you didn't ask this but found section relaxed experience compared to my difficult first birth.

Mine was booked at my second consultant appointment at 30 weeks. I'm going in at 39 weeks exactly.

25 weeks now and it’s been discussed once with consultant at 16 weeks and won’t be again until 30 weeks or so

If all ok Itl hopefully get booked in at 36 weeks for procedure sometimes at 39 weeks

I had to attend vbac class to show that I am considering all options
