Faint pregnancy test results! Any help greatly appreciated

Hi, I’m totally new here! So hope this is the right place to ask this question! My period is four days late and I took a pregnancy test today from boots! Apparently a a distinct test and control line means you’re pregnant. If no test line appears but a control line appears you’re not pregnant! And if just the test line appears or no line it is Invalid! Annoyingly I got a distinct test line and a faint control line! Does this mean I am pregnant or the test is invalid?! I peed all over the stick (must work on aim) so very confused!

Hi I would say you’re most likely pregnant ! They say usually any second line is a positive , no matter how faint either line is ! False positives are quite rare. Maybe buy another test to double check !

Thanks for letting me know! Was worried that peeing over the whole of the stick might have affected it! Have another test will wait a couple of hours and take it again

Early morning wee often results in the strongest lines so maybe try first thing in the morning if you’re unsure? Good luck x

Also try weeing into a container and dipping the stick

When I was PG, the test line was fainter than control at around 10dpo, they were equal in colour at 12dpo and by 14/15dpo, the test line was dark and the control line faint.

I read something at the time about the dye all going into the test line first when your HCG is very high.

If the test line was dark and the control line was fainter, that’s a very positive test and your HCG is likely very high. Definitely try dipping it into a pot instead though.

This is the picture of the test I tooo at the time, as you can see it’s very faint! I guess I’ll take another test. Also ‘beingatwatitsabingthing’ is the best username 😂

I would say that’s a definite positive! As a previous poster mentioned, when HCG is very high it can often make the test line very dark and leave little dye for the control line! I had quite a few tests where the test line was darker than the control and I’m now 25 weeks! Congratulations!!

We just did a couple of clear blue tests and sure enough am pregnant! Thanks for your replies, totally in shock as wasn’t expecting this!
