Breastfeeding and TTC

My DS is 23 months and breastfeeds once a day (for about 20mins) before bedtime. We’re both really happy with this and I don’t particularly want to stop yet.

We’re really ready to try for number 2. My periods returned about three months after having DS (despite exclusively breastfeeding) and have been regular ever since. I have obvious ovulation signs.

I assume it’s likely I’m ovulating now but is still breastfeeding likely to make pregnancy riskier? I know it might seem like a silly question but the internet seems to have no firm answer here (lots of scary stories about breastfeeding increasing chances of miscarriage etc).

Would really appreciate some advice. Thanks!

Sorry this probably should have gone onto Conception board!
