DD has chickenpox - I'm 21 weeks pregnant and immune - am I ok to be around her?

Just as the title says, my DD started getting spots yesterday and this morning I can see it's definitely chickenpox. I got tested a few months back and confirmed I am immune to chickenpox. But I read there are cases you can get it again or shingles as an adult - am I really ok to be around her as I've had chickenpox before? I'm just getting paranoid! I've been around her/kisses and cuddles all last week and this weekend so I guess there's not much I can do now if there are any risks Confused

You will be as low risk as it’s possible to be. You can’t catch shingles from chicken pox anyway (though you can the other way round) - it’s the dormant virus from when you had chicken pox.

You can't catch shingles from chickenpox. You can catch chickenpox from shingles.

If you're immune, there's no need to worry.

I’d have thought you’d be fine if you’re definitely immune?

I guess your midwife is the person to ask.

Thank you for the reassurance!

My little boy had them last summer when I was about 36 weeks pregnant, I did panic at first but I’ve had it when I was a child and was also immune so really it was the best time to have it. It would be have been awful if his little brother had been out, safest place for them is in your tummy sharing your immunity. Everything was fine for me. I did mention it to my midwife at my next appointment but she wasn’t concerned, If your worried you could call yours. Good luck with your little ones..

You'll be fine OP Smile if you're worried you could always give your midwife a call for some reassurance.
