After having 3 miscarriages very close together we are finally getting our rainbow baby and I'm 22 weeks. I wanted our baby to have a meaningful name, this is something that's really important to me. I did some searching online and 'iris' is apparently Greek for rainbow but my partner isn't keen. I then thought of hope which I absolutely adore, what do you ladies think? 🌈🤰🏼👶🌈

Iris is a beautiful name. Alternatively you could go for a name like Hope or Faith. You could also do a colour name to stick with the rainbow theme like Scarlett or Violet. Congratulations.

Jacqueshammer, the popularity would put me off to be honest, during our first pregnancy 18 months ago I loved Olivia but the popularity deterred me whereas u rarely hear of hope (except on silent witness last week!)

There's a Hope on Coronation Street too

I love them both. Slightly prefer Hope I think although I do know of a few baby Hopes and they were all born after their parents suffered infertility or loss and so I do sort of assume that when I hear of one.

Both of those names are beautiful, and I haven't heard any of them locally to me at any baby groups.

Congratulations on your rainbow baby! When we had our rainbow boy we chose a name which means strong because that is how we felt he was, it really suits him

Another name which is beautiful is Esme, my friend called her baby Esme as she was a miracle baby and it has a meaning of “beloved,” which encompasses both your rainbow baby and your endless love . Shay is also another name with similar meaning !
