Induction due to placenta overworking

I may have to be iinduced if my scan in 2 weeks suggests a problem. I'll be 38 weeks. I've never been induced before. But last birth I had a pph so am apprehensive anyway.

What happens? Is it more painful? Any advice?

Do you mean abruption, OP?

Oops no sorry. It's that it's not working as well as it should. That's literally all I've been told. To do with my reduced movements. That it's working too hard to feed the baby

It sounds like not enough blood is gettting to he baby. Has a scan picked up high pressure in the blood flow to the uterus? I had this. My baby had to be born at 34 weeks. She is 5 and fine now.

@eurochick yes that's right. Wasn't quite sure how to explain it. The umbilical artery pi was too high or something. It was a quick appointment as I was fitted in last minute. The doctor seemed to think it could be ok but want to check again in 2 weeks. I've had 5 cases of reduced movement so bit anxious about it. Glad your little one is ok.

Hi,

I had this my last pregnancy. I think at a 28( or 24, can't remember) weeks scan it was picked that PI was too high. I had 3 episodes of reduced movements and also my DD was not growing properly. I was induced at 36+4, she was born at 37 weeks and all healthy. She was actually 300 grams more than estimated and no problem with her now.

38 weeks it's a great gestational age. Hopefully you can manage the stress until your next scan. I remember it being quite a stressful tune, but once they decided to offer me induction I felt relieved.

@R2D2abc thank you for that. I feel more reassured that your little girl was healthy. Will try not to stress too much lol
