Stopped feeling movements

Hi,

I'm almost 19 weeks and haven't felt the baby move since the night before last. I'm a mum of 6 already and baby does seem to have a pattern of movement and seems to be super active around 20 minutes after my evening meal. I'm under a lot of stress at the moment and for a few days before the movement stopped I was experiencing very sharp pains and almost like a pulling sensation from the inside. I didn't worry too much as I had no bleeding or loss of fluid. I lost a baby 3 years ago at 16 weeks so naturally I'm beginning to panic. I've tried drinking something ice cold, a bath and the usual things but still nothing. I plan to phone the maternity unit once the children are off to school but just looking for words of reassurance really. I'm terrified 😭😭

Have you phoned your maternity unit? I was told that if movements decrease to not delay and to phone straight away. It may be nothing but better to be on the safe side x

LividLaughLovely · 31/01/2020 09:24

Please get checked asap.

Delbelleber · 31/01/2020 09:43

Baby probably just turned around and is kicking your insides where you can't feel it. Definitely get checked for reassurance x

MrsH497 · 31/01/2020 09:53

Call maternity unit and get checked. Best option. In my experience (been twice now 24 weeks) they would rather reassure you than you worry or the worst happened

jomaIone · 31/01/2020 09:59

At less than 19 weeks pregnant, your baby is so small that it can move to a different position and you won't feel the movements. I know in my hospital they wouldn't monitor someone before 24 weeks pregnant as it's so likely that everything is fine and baby just moved.

Maybe call your community midwife and see if you can pop in and listen to the heartbeat to put your mind at rest?

PixieDustt · 31/01/2020 10:01

Go and get checked over all they can do is have a listen in but that will be reassuring for you.
I bet bubba has just moved position x

KidCaneGoat · 31/01/2020 10:01

Phone maternity unit. But they may not see you as it’s before 24 weeks. But worth checking

The link above is worth a read, a fantastic charity. I would call your local maternity unit for advice to be on the safe side.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 31/01/2020 10:04

I would phone the midwife before the maternity unit, she may well be able to pop round or give you a clinic time to have a listen to heartbeat.

EyeDrops · 31/01/2020 10:18

I'd also phone the midwife as a first port of call at 19w, they will advise if you should call the maternity unit instead and can check the heartbeat. Don't delay though!

RaindropDreams · 31/01/2020 10:55

I've tried everything again and still nothing. My midwife only has an answer phone service so I'm just going to call maternity day unit now and see what they say. I know baby is still small but I'm on a rainbow pathway because of what happened before so I'm hoping someone will see me for reassurance

Good luck OP.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 31/01/2020 11:41

Good luck. Both of mine had reduced movements and hospital were always nice about my going in.

whydontkidscomewithauserguide · 31/01/2020 11:42

Good luck! Thanks

abbs1 · 31/01/2020 12:14

Hope all goes well.
I'm on my rainbow journey too and going in later today for reduced movements for the second time to be checked over. Called the unit this morning they were so nice.

RaindropDreams · 31/01/2020 12:27

All is fine, they found the heartbeat after a little bit of searching so I'm relieved! Thank you all for good wishes
