12 week scan - anyone else’s date move back?

Hi all!

I had my 12 weeks NHS scan yesterday - thought I was 11 + 6 however turned out at the scan I’m actually only 10 + 4 so have to go back in two weeks.

Anyone else had this happen? Lady that did the sonogram said everything was total fine but that I must have ovulated later that I thought. I had only just come off the pill so I had no idea what a normal cycle was like for me.

Would love to hear if this has happened to anyone else x

The same thing just happened to me (had my 12w scan on weds) and I turned out to be a week less far along than I thought. Although I had kind of made up my last period date because I couldn't remember! So I guess I was a few days out with that, plus I have a longish cycle, 31 days. The sonographer seemed totally chilled about it and said everything was fine with my baby in terms of measurements etc. I'm at the fetal research centre at Kings which is all fancy and new, and my two sonographer were actually researchers and they took lots of extra measurements. So I'm feeling happy!

I had that with an early scan.....I thought I was 7+5 but baby only measured 6+1 then, 2 weeks later, baby was measuring 8+2 so growing proportionately (also had a strong heartbeat both times). I do have longer than average cycles and could well have ovulated late so I guess that might explain the discrepancy.
I've yet to have my'12 week scan' but going by my LMP, I would be 12+6 today, whereas if I go by the last scan, I'm only 11+3
I can't wait for my dating scan to get some clarity on where i'm actually at and get an actual due date.

@sel2223 - good to know there is a few people this happens to!

When is your dating scan? I’m back on the 12th Feb so it’s going to be really interesting to see if I’m measuring just as I should be then
