Anxiety through the roof - Bubble popping or just wind??

Hi all - bit of help needed here. I am looking forward to baby moving so that I can placate my anxiety. It has been pretty bad since the start of the pregnancy and I live in constant fear of finding out that babys heart stopped. Had many reassurance scans but they just go so far because they give you the situation at a snapshot in time. The second the probe leaves the belly anything could happen.

I am 17w2d and I think I am feeling bubbles popping about 10cm below my belly button. I dont think I ever had this sensation, however, it might just be that I've never noticed it because I was not paying attention to it or, better say, never desperately looking for something.

I have lots of wind as well and sometimes some trapped wind.

Any experience on how do I differentiate between the two?

Thanks all

Bubbles popping is exactly what first movements felt like to me.

I was far more aware of it with my second daughter though, but I think that's only because I knew what to look out for.

I know it's hard but try not to panic.

What lilsquish said, bubbles popping at 17w were my first signs of movement too, just a few more weeks and it'll all get a lot more obvious.

Speak to your me about the anxiety, it's very common and there are resources out there to help.

Thanks very much for your reply ladies. Time goes so slow though. I can't wait to be able to properly tell, so that then I can start obsessing about number of daily kicks.

The truth is that I read that first movements felt like bubble popping so i knew what i was looking for and I am afraid of confirmation bias, I.e. I'm just imagining everything and convincing myself I have bubbles popping.

Anxiety is a bitch. I am so jealous of people who are so lucky to live their life without it.

Hi OP I was exactly the same as you. Worrying about everything. I thought I'd felt movement as bubbles popping at about 17w because that's what everyone told me it would feel like. But actually when I did eventually feel the baby move it actually felt like muscle twitches!! And I never felt bubbles popping for the rest of the pregnancy. So it's not always that sensation.

Good luck! Pregnancy is hard but so worth it in the end.

Thanks. At what week did you finally feel the real movements @GreenLeafTurnip?

I had three little bubbles popping / popcorn popping sensations in bed last night. 18 weeks exactly and it was the first thing I (think I've) felt

Galwaygirl85 · 30/01/2020 20:49

You poor devil try meet friends or talk about how you feel I never had Anxiety until my second child and from 30 weeks on I felt I'd end up in hospital signed in it was an Awful feeling but I tell you it gets easier and when your baby arrives it will change,
That bubbly feeling is your baby moving iv 2 kids and different movements both times go with your gut

Lalla525 · 30/01/2020 20:55

Dream just broken. Had a poo (sorry TMI) and probably the 'bubbles' were just the movements of my intestines. Oh man!!😂

I felt like this around 18 weeks when I first felt 'flutters'. I was convinced it was wind. I didnt feel them all the time, some days there would be loads, other days there would be nothing.

SpeedofaSloth · 30/01/2020 21:41

Sounds like your baby moving around, OP Smile

GreenLeafTurnip · 31/01/2020 06:12

@Lalla525 I was nearly 19 weeks when I felt him and actually realised it was him and not muscle twitches! No idea how long before that I'd been feeling him though.

Beley153 · 31/01/2020 06:29

I just felt the same when my baby moved first. Only moms can understand that feeling
